Garman Hill began in 1904 when S.D. and Mary Garman chose to settle in Wilder, Idaho, instead of continuing their journey west. It became the first official homestead in the area, and for over three generations the Garman family worked the land, raising orchards, gardens, and livestock while becoming deeply woven into the community.
Houston and Nadine Garman carried on that legacy, building the home that overlooked the farmland and Owyhee Mountains and hosting countless family gatherings. In 2021, they passed the land to the next generation, where Greg and Kris Garman saw an opportunity to preserve the homestead and share its beauty with others.
Greg’s battle with cancer ended in 2023. Today, Kris stewards Garman Hill into as a modern venue rooted in history, community, and the breathtaking Idaho landscape.
